Salesforce Announces End of Support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder

Salesforce Announces End of Support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder

More than 2 years ago, Salesforce announced the retirement of Workflow Rules and Process Builder. Following this announcement, they began the retirement process gradually. They introduced the Migrate to Flow tool and shortly afterward disabled the option to create new Workflow Rules and Process Builder. Finally, today, they have announced the end of support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder.

Effective December 31, 2025, Salesforce will stop supporting Workflow Rules and Process Builder. Therefore, you should migrate your automations to Flow Builder by that time. The reason behind this retirement is very clear. Salesforce wants to focus development on a modern, extensible, low-code automation solution in Flow Builder.

How It Will Affect You

While Workflow Rules and Process Builder may continue to function and execute existing automation after December 31, 2025, customer support will not be available. Therefore, any encountered bugs will remain unfixed.

What You Should Do

To ensure your automations continue working, we strongly advise making a plan to migrate any active rules or processes to Flow Builder before the deadline. Depending on the complexity of your organization, this migration process may require a considerable amount of time and testing.

Although you have more than a year for the end of support, you should avoid waiting until the last minute. Begin transferring your workflows to Flow sooner rather than later. You'll be grateful for sidestepping the stress of a sudden rush.

To sum up, end of support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder is the end of an era. However, it is also a chance to improve your automations using Flow, which is a much better automation tool.
