Salesforce Formula Fixer

Paste a formula from a formula field, validation rule, flow or report. Salesforce Formula Fixer checks the syntax, corrects the mistakes it is sure about, and shows you exactly what it changed.

Salesforce Formula Fixer runs entirely in your browser. It never sends your formula anywhere.

What It Checks and Fixes

Salesforce Formula Fixer makes the fixes only when there is one clear answer. When there are several possible answers, the fixer explains the problem and lets you pick.

Parentheses: Adds a missing ), removes an extra one, and moves a ) that closes a function too early. Points to the exact "(" that is never closed.

Commas: Adds a missing comma between arguments, removes extra commas, and turns ; separators from Excel into commas.

Text values: Finds text with no closing quote and closes it in the right place. Replaces curly quotes copied from Word or email with straight quotes.

IF and CASE: Finds an IF without its "false" value, a CASE without its "else" value, and else-if chains that need nested IFs.

Function names: Corrects typos such as ISBLNK, and names from Excel or code such as LENGTH, SWITCH or CONCATENATE. Checks the number of arguments of every function.

Operators: Turns AND/OR between conditions into &&/||, ! into NOT(), => into >=, and removes a leading =.

Questions

1- Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, no limits.

2- Is my formula sent to a server or an AI?

No. Everything runs as JavaScript in your browser. There is no AI, and your formula never leaves the page.

3- Which formulas can I check?

Any Salesforce formula: formula fields, validation rules, default values, flow formulas, report formulas and approval or workflow criteria. It supports Flow merge fields such as {!$Record.Name}, and /* comments */.

4- Why does Salesforce still show an error after fixing?

The fixer checks the formula's structure. Salesforce also checks that fields exist, that picklist fields are used with ISPICKVAL or TEXT, and that types match. For example, an IF cannot return text in one case and a number in the other. Those checks need your org.

5- What does "Check" next to a change mean?

The fixer found one change that makes the formula valid. However, it was a judgment call (for example, where a missing parenthesis goes). Read that change to confirm it is what you meant.
