Redirection Errors After Summer '25 Release

Redirection Errors After Summer '25 Release

Enhanced Domains are the modern version of My Domain, offering more secure, compliant URLs across your Salesforce org. They apply to Experience Cloud sites, Visualforce pages, content files, and include "sandbox" in sandbox URLs for easy identification. Salesforce has already enforced Enhanced Domains in previous releases. Although the URLs have changed, Salesforce was automatically redirecting old URLs to the new ones. However, starting with the Summer '25 release, legacy domain redirects are disabled by default. This means old URLs that previously worked may now return errors. If you're encountering redirection errors, here’s a quick temporary fix.

How to Re-Enable Legacy Redirects

You can still re-enable legacy redirects in My Domain Settings. Simply mark the "Redirect legacy (non-enhanced) My Domain hostnames" option under the Redirections section. This will make sure that your old URLs will continue redirecting to the new ones.

Optionally, you can also mark "Maintain legacy redirections during the Winter '26 upgrade" to extend support a bit further.

How to Fix Redirection Errors

However, it is important to mention that Salesforce will permanently disable these redirects in Spring '26 release. Therefore, it is time to update your links to avoid technical debt.

  1. Thank you so much. We received a ton of calls over the weekend (6/14-6/15 2025) that links were broken to the Portal (experience site) so your article was very timely and helpful.
